i have small building society accounts with TSB and Halifax. I wish to close them. They tell me that the accounts are "frozen" with no internet access. The only way is to call at their offices in person with copy bank account passport council tax etc. I am 82 and disabled and unable to get to their offices. Is there any other way out?

Phone them again and explain that it is impossible for you to travel and ask them how you should proceed.

As you are disabled and housebound do you have an LPA to deal with your financial affairs? If so your attorney can do it for you at the branch.
