My Father was born 1915 and died 2001 in Canada. He was British born. On his death he left 2 million dollars to me and 2 million dollars to my brother. My brother living in Canada and still does went to see him on his death bed. There were 2 envelopes one for me and one for my brother. My brother studying in Canada at the time took both envelopes and put them in his bank account. I never saw my 2 million dollars. He says he needed the money for books and took mine. Im now skint and want it back. What would it be worth today and how do i go about getting it back. He would never hand it over if I asked. I am Canadian born but have lived in England all my life. We have a very unusual surname so the accounts i would think would be easy to find. My father & brothers accounts are in Canada AND MY ACCOUNT IS IN bRITAIN.

You need advice from a lawyer. A cheque not delivered to you (in English law) is invalid once death occurs.
You either need to find out if there was a Will and what it said or if your father was intestate.
Get proper advice from a Canadian lawyer. You will not get the sort of advice you need from a website.
