I usually get paid every Monday, so can I assume the Bank holiday payment after Christmas will be paid on the Friday (24th) before? And what about the January 3 payment...will that be paid on the preceding Friday (31st) also?

Another not really related query...my tv licence comes out of my account on the first of the month...will it be before or after January 1?

Don't you get your payments monthly? Yes, if it's a Monday Bank Holiday, the payment is usually made the Friday before.
Your assumptions about Pension Credit payments fit in with the usual pattern for all types of benefit payments, as well as with what appears here:

With regard to any type of Direct Debit arrangement (including, of course, TV licensing): "If the payment due date falls at a weekend or on a Bank Holiday the organisation is obliged to debit your account just after the due date, not before, unless they notify you in advance of a change of date".

Goodgoalie, I was given a choice...so I chose weekly.

Thanks Chris...the tv licence is what I expected. I just didn't want any nasty surprises!
goodgoalie has it correct - you are paid the previous week
