removing e wife from mortgage

hi, im stuck in a house i cant sell,my ex wife and i divorced 4 years ago, before we could sort out the mortgage she left her solicitor in the lurch, leaving her unpaid .i am having great difficulty finding her , hence unable to make court proceedings begin , surerly there must b something i can do via the courts ! help would be greatly appreciated

Is the house still in joint names ???? In which case how are you trying to sell it as you would need her signature.

I think there are circumstances in which a divorce can go ahead and a Court order obtained for a house to be sold without the other party being located, but for the Court to agree this you would have to demonstrate to them that exhaustive enquiries had been made to try to trace your ex (probably including advertising). I think you will need a solicitor if you want to pursue this.
