I have a question about Alimony payments. Well I know a guy that wants to divorce his wife. They have been together for 12 years. It's his first and her second marriage. They have no kids together and they both work. She has two grown kids from her first marriage who have been stealing from him throughout the marriage. Would he still have to pay her alimony? They also own a own a house that hasnt been finished paid for yet .

You sound as if you are America so I can only answer on an English basis. I would say that he would have to pay her alimony but they would take into consideration her circumstances, how much she earns, how much he earns, her future prospects of earning etc. etc. As for the house well they will have to sort out whether they want to sell it and divide the equity in a certain way, or one of them buy the other out.
