For me, Brent is the perfect grotesque character - equally hyper-sensitive to his own many neurosis, and equally crashingly unaware of the feelings of anyone else.
But the real depth of Brent is that he really just wants to be liked, and that's something that touches a chord in all of us.

Having worked for managers exactly like Brent, and some even worse, I identified entirely with Tim, who spent so much of his time wordlessly catching the eye of the camera as if to say, are you getting this? And yes, it really is like this here.
