new job new account!!
6 Answers
have just started a job after six years on benefits. Am a single mother of three. Have been refused for a proper bank account many times, although i have credit and store cards without late/missed payments.I do have a savings account with an electron card so i tend to transfer money over. When if ever, should i apply for a full account or will i be refused. I have had poor credit in past. My monthly income is now about five hundred plus more than it was. around 1200 without child support etc. Any ideas?

They usually allow direct debits/standing orders on those accounts too. Good luck!!
My sister had a similar problem, she just needed an account she could do Direct Debits from, she got a Basic Nationwide Flex Account but without 'full banking facilities' ie no cheque book and you can only use the card as a cashpoint card.
As was said before after a few months of regular credits they automatically upgraded her to the full package.
