There used to be a time when I got regular offers of loans from various companies .

I now can't remember the last time I received any .

Am I now considered someone who it's not worth bothering with ?

Just realised that I haven't had any for months and months, not even a credit card. Its either a sign of the times or a sigh of my age

A sign of the times I suspect.

In the pre-2008 days, banks and credit card companies showered application forms around like confetti - if you had a biro and a pulse they'd sign you up.

Caution, and possibly regulations and accountability, means they have to be far more cautious, and probably only sign people who approach them first, and with more rigorous checks in advance as well.
