Administrator Of Estate Refuses To Accept Offers On Property
Mum died in Oct 2020 with no Will so under intestacy rules, my two brothers and I will receive a third of her estate each. The estate includes a property. One brother appointed himself as Executor/Administrator and delayed applying for probate till Oct 2022. He is now delaying putting the house up for sale and says that he won't accept offers unless they are much higher than the asking price. Can he continue to delay selling the property indefinitely? My other brother and I would like to get the estate finalised as it is a long time already since Mum died.

He cannot appoint himself Administrator (there is no executor - an executor executes a will and there isn't one). He needs a "Grant of representation" which will provide him with "Letters of Administration". Has he got them or applied for them?
