Why Are Some Electric Banding Tools $4000+ When I Can Buy A $325 Electric Banding Tool?
I used to use a Manual Polyester Strapping tool for my job. But I had failed to convince my boss that it was reliable, as he never had faith in it, and he recommended against it, but still allowed me to use it. It was a little under a year ago when I bought a (light duty) 29 dollar manual polyester strapping tool with steel clips made for polyester strapping. And all was going well until today where he only saw one Steel clip lose its grip (along with another which was welded by a battery operated poly strapping tool) and wrote a discrepancy report and had me sign it saying I am not alloud to use my manual poly strapping tool. I bought such a thing because there were not enough electric banding tools available and the wait time could lead to a longer work day. Not to mention that we have a huge warehouse, and I could walk (or forklift) all the way from one end of the warehouse to the other end, and find that the battery operated poly strapping tool is missing, low on battery, or is in use by someone else. We're banding wooden lumber, some of it is about 20 feet long and we need to put 3 to 5 sometimes more straps around each package. I would like the convenience of having my own strapping tool now. So I am shopping for some battery operated polyester strapping tools. I was wondering why is one Battery operated Poly Strapping tool $4000 dollars whereas another could cost $400 - $500. Just so you guys know, that The $2500 dollar tools used at the company have all malfunctioned and were taken out of commission for weeks on end. The Acme that we had was permanently de-commissioned and had to be replaced, which was why I resorted to using my manual tool in the first place. What I'm Concerned about is are the Cheap Banding Tools easy to disassemble and fix just like the expensive ones?
Thank you for your help.
