my daughter has one with her bank account (lloyds).  She is 11

It's free, so for me better than go henry etc

her pocket money goes into that account so she can save up or spend.

it can be used at shops or online

there is less control for me than go henry et al, but c'est la vie

Yes, my kids had them. It's better than them going to cashpoint and draming money out where they can be robbed.

As Bednobs said. It's free. It's also likely that this will be the only way to shop in a few years time. Cash will be a thing of the past, unfortunately.

I trust these things don't allow you to go into the red.

yes, you cant have any sort of ccredit or overdraft.
