Naomi, I will only buy fruit that is grown in the UK, except for fruit that can't be grown here.  Impossible for me to buy cherries from. Waitrose online.

There will always be the rich and the poor.  If you collected all the money in the country and divided it up equally, you would end up in the same situation because some would use it wisely - and the rest wouldn't.
