Conservative Party membership has fallen by almost a quarter over the past to years ,Saturdays leadership election results have revealed Barely 95,000 voted in this contest as the turnout plunged to it's lowest level on record amid a declining party membership.They had more paid up members when 141,725 voted in the Liz Truss lettuce reign.Why are these members leaving? Well this ex-member had decided to let her membership lapse after the idiocy of lockdown, but could (just) have been persuaded to remain.  Unfortunately for them, the MPs and power-brokers decided to show their contempt for the membership, which had voted for Liz Truss.  They thought they knew best.

That, on top of everything else, TINOs, failure to carry through the Brexit we voted for..... so many things... meant that my membership did lapse -- and I cannot ever see myself rejoining.

//Labour lost 37,000 more members during 2023.//

The Greens have remained stable and Reform says its membership has grown significantly but apart from that  neither Labour nor Conservatives seem to be doing very well.

must be catching......

funny you'd expect that a party that has just won an election with a huge majority would have people flocking to join. Looks like Tool and the gang have aliented many of it's core supporters, eg:

13 14 Naomi "Labour lost 37,000 more members during 2023"              But they still won The General Election in 2024 .With a huge majority.

(13:17 Sun 03rd Nov 2024), interesting comments on that Chatterbank thread you posted Torax3, what an absolute mess this Labout Gov, has turned out to be, although I didn't expect anything other than a complete shambles.

Totally out of their depth!

TORATORATORA,

"funny you'd expect that a party that has just won an election with a huge majority would have people flocking to join."

Funny, you'd expect an alleged member of Mensa to spot that the figures were from 2023, which is before 2024 and the election...
