I'm afraid as tragic as this clearly is, all four are equally culpable. It's not as if only the driver was faffing about with the gas - they all were. They all got in the car voluntarily and they all knew the risks they were taking by allowing themselves to be carried in those circumstances.

The event was described as "teenage thrills" and "teenage mistakes". Sorry, I don't agree. The driver is 19, was driving a high-powered car and if he couldn't be trusted to appreciate that, he should not have been driving, let alone doing so whilst inhaling nitrous oxide.

"The parents of Ethan Goddard [one of the deceased]paid tribute, writing that he "was a fun, loving, kind, generous, caring young lad, always thinking of others, and getting the most out of life"."

Well they would say that. But he wasn't always thinking of others. He had no thoughts for the other three nor for other road users on that night when he passed gas around the car. He wasn't at the wheel. But he, along with the others, must share the blame.

Do insurers pay up when the driver is doped up or drunk?

small print?

They must meet any Third Party and passenger liabilities. They may not meet claims for damages or loss to the insured's own vehicle (depending on the terms of the policy).

A moron, who should have been a sheet stain. Instead he made a lot of blood stains. No sympathy for cretinous behaviour.

ooops, I missed this thread. My comments here :-
