Is What I Experienced Called 'Lightheadedness' Or Is It Something Else

I have never really understood the meaning of feeling 'lightheaded'. 
 

I have experienced the following and wondered if it means this: /

Occasionally I have felt as if my surroundings are unreal/like im not really present. I can see everything around me and my balance is fine but theres a lack of connection ie its hard to believe im really there in the place that Im seeing. It occured once during menstruation and another time after I had a episode of fainting.
 

Is this what people mean by 'lightheaded'? If not then what is it that I experienced?

Mild 'dissociation' by the sound of it.  (I suspect that many/most people experience it at some time in their lives).

light headed is not really the sense you feel - you get light headed from standing up from a low chair

the answer is to lie down again

as soon as you mention "metstruation" at lease half the ABers are disquaiified from commenting

Thanks all. Yea Peter menstruation is only one instance when it has occured though.
