Just had first free session and can't see point as nothing legally binding and have to return to solicitor to get things written up for court and it costs 450 each approx. for 3-4 sessions.

My husband sat there and said he didn't want a divorce and would try to change my mind! Also said he would not go back to work if he had to support me and 3 sons. Now threatening to go to Romania with Romanian totty and live off his redundancy payment there! Wants me to ask for half the amount my solicitor advises or else won't take it at all. Has currently been on sick leave with depression for 9 wks.Any comments?

hi lacuna , shame about the cost ( is that 4 x 450 per session or 450 you 450 him ) , does your brief say you have to show willing and attend these sessions. Romania : how long will he last in the bosom of tottys family once the have bleed him dry of initial funds? Stick to your guns ,you owe it to your boys not to be brow beaten at this stage. I bet he wants you to ask for less - does the charm school know he is missing? Cleaner said the best thing about mediation was that some times she wanted to kill the mediator instead of just her hubbie ... does that mean I'm moving on she asked before she burst out laughing! I'll bet he has got depression - he has been with totty for a while now bet the greeness of grass fading fast. Just posted to your last question tonight have a read. Remember the words of our patron saint IVANA TRUMP don't get mad get everything, rent "the first wives club '"if you need a laugh!
I agree, stick to your guns - are you living in the marital home ? Don't be bullied into giving up your rights. Also totty will not survive long when he is either not earning or having to pay maintenance payments.
lacunu, just call me suspicious..... but I was thinking about why he would try to eeek out the divorce process (or bother to try staying married if he is a serial fillanderer , apart from a power game that is! ) - I am now wondering how old your youngest is, are they close to eighteen? as he might try to eeek this out long enough to contest your need for the marital home if this is the case, just a thought for you to mull over if it applies! onwards and upwards love sense.

Cost is approx. 450 for 3-4 sessions in total each.Had to attend 1st one set up to qualify for public funding or there is a 35 fine for non-attendance. Mediator said rather tactfully that we were both at different emotional levels!...I took that to mean they couldn't really help until ex2b declares his intent seriously,at present I think court will have to do this for him.Don't believe threat about living in Romania as totty was so keen to leave and has not visited family since, although she does co-own a 4 bed detached with first husband that he tells me (her English husband) that she won't agree to sell.

Yes, lady_p_gold, I am living in marital home and sons are 21,19 and 10yrs.Eldest awaiting training course, 19yr old to resume A levels after breakdown and I'm trying to postpone mine for the next 6 months!!

Pheew, so you have time to adhere to the original game plan and stick in for the long haul.I hope that you will allocate an appropriate time period for projected breakdown - be generous you deserve to indulge yourself.

Glad you can speak to tottys ex , (back to knowledge is power!),you sound like you are doing really well, even though I am sure it doesn't feel that way! Those boys are lucky you are prepared to bat for them.Keep up the good work.love Sense.
