2 Answers
My ex husband has left my house about approx 8 years ago. I keep receiving debt recovery letters for him at this address.I am now re married and am finding these letters from a number of debt recovery companys being posted to this address. I cannot understand how he is getting credit at this address and wondered if anyone could help me to conctact the correct people to stop this. Many thanks in advance.

Ask your solicitor to write to the debt collection agencys and put them straight. It may be that your ex husband has commited fraud, in which case the police should be involved. Your solicitor will advise you . Above all, don't ignore it.
If your husband was getting credit at your address then you would be receiving letters from the companies he owed money to originally before they passed it on to a debt company. It is possible that the debt was from the period when he lived at the property because when his details got passed to a collection agency it was his last known address from the company he ran up debt with. If he left 8 years ago and not on the electoral roll or connected to your address in any way now , as the letters aren't in your name you have the right not to open them and simply mark return to sender next time you see one and post it back.
