I'm a part time student at a local college. I also work full time and pay the normal rate of tax and NI. However does anyone know if I might be entitled to any tax relief or any other benefits as I'm a student as well as a full time worker??

I've looked into tax credits but I earn to much to qualify. I'm 24 earn 19,500k and live in my own house with my partner (who also works) The house has a mortgage (a very large one!!!)

Any help or advise would be great.

With that level of income you will not qualify for mean tested benefits. Are you paying for your college course fees? You could try at your college to see if they have any Learner Support Funds available, but you usually need to be on very low income to qualify. Worth checking though as all colleges have different criteria.

As regards your tax and NIC, I'm afraid you must pay the same rates as anyone else. As an employees, you can only claim tax relief on expenses you incur wholly, exclusively and necessairly in the performance of your duties.

Sorry, not much good news there.
