How do I find my deceased husbands NI Number?

My pension have been asking for my dead husbands national insurance number, how would i find this? I have no old wage slips or anything as this was 11 years ago??? please help

Under the Data Protection Act they are supposed to hold certain documents indefinitely and they may possibly have this information in their archives. If he was contributing to a pension scheme at some point they may have a record of his NI no.
Are you sure the pension people have a good reason for wanting his NI number? It seems very strange that they need it so long after his death.
You could try HMRC National Insurance Contributions Office, Longbenton, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, NE98 1ZZ. They should have had a record of his NI contributions and hopefully might be able to find the number for you.
