when you are shopping online and are asked for your credit card number, which one do you give - is it the longest one in the centre of the card or the 'card number' at the bottom of the card? thanks

I assume you are referring to a debit card as my credit cards only have the sixteen digit number which is the one you should give. The may also ask for the validation code which is the last three numbers from the signature strip. On a debit card the card number is the number at the bottom as the other number is your bank code and account number.

The position of the number required varies from bank to bank .

Always give the 16 digit number, although this will sometimes be at the bottom or sometimes in the middle of the card

scotstone, not all cards look the same as yours.

treelife123 - the card number is the long 16 digit (sometimes 15 for American Express) number in the centre of the card.
