could anyone advise me if it is possible for my widowed granmother, who lives alone, to leave her house in her will to me (her only grandchild) and then for me to give it to my dad as a gift?

Why doesnt she leave it to him in the first place?

There are some tax implications you will to take into consideration if you 'gift' it to your father.

Check out the inland revenue site for more details but it isnt as simple as giving him the house.

What are you (or your grandmother) trying to achieve? It seems an unecessarily elaborate way of getting the house into your dad's ownership, and could quite likely mean you having a capital gains tax bill when you gifted it to him. There could also be Stamp Duty Land Tax to pay.
