patenting

i have an invention that needs patenting but im clueless with regards to how to go about it, and how do i get hold of maufacturing companies that would put the idea to paper for me , how much would all these cost

Contact the patent office (you can email them) and they will send you a pack int he post detailing all you need to do, with costs etc.
