I bought a car that had outstanding finance, an agreement was signed between myself and the seller that this would be paid off with the money received for the car. Is there a web site I can check whether there is still outstanding finance on the car?

I believe the AA can carry out checks on vehicles for a fee of about 15 so see their status e.g written off, outstanding finance, etc. Auto Trader online also has a facility like this x
you need a 'HPI' check. as mentioned a varity of sites can do this - but be warned - if there is money outstanding on the car, you may not have title to the car and the finance company can take it back if it has not been settled.
