when tony blair goes on about retirement age at 68 does he think about people who work on building sites doing hod carrying or other people in hard jobs to me i dont think he gives a monkies i dont think tony blair would last a week on a site

The only people the government are bothered about is the government! It's this 'I'm alright Jack, sod you' attitude that is behind many people not voting. It's about time that the government realised that they are there to serve us, not the other way round.
Maybe if they reduced their �200k+ salaries we wouldn't have to work so long to fund their bank accounts...
I personally think retirement at 68 should depend on what industry you work in. I think manual labour work should be at 60 and I think retirement at 68 should only be possible if you have worked within the same company for more than 10 years. Ie from 58 - 68, where as if you lose your job at 62....what employer will pick a 62 yr old? when he's going to retire at 68?

I think we'll end up with more older people on benefits from 65 - 68 whilst waiting for pensions.
