Wife has left me - is she entitled to half the joint account
My Wife has just left me, and taken my daughter to go and live with some guy 300 miles away. She has asked for some more money, in addition to what she "stole" from the joint account the day she left and following day untill i canceled her cards. As she left me - do i have to give her 50% of the balance on the day of seperation? Thanks

I am not sure what you mean by cancelled her cards, surely you would both have to agree to this. Regardless of right or wrong, and you may be feeling very upset and hurt, but regardless of right and wrong all accounts belong to the marital assets, and that includes the house and she is entitled to a proportion of it, either what you agree, or what the Court decides if you cannot agree (that is if you go down the divorce route). I hope it does not reach that stage, but it is not looking very hopeful.
