Ebay question

I am thinking of setting up a small business on either Ebay/Amazon, selling items from abroad. Is this all legal, providing I pay for the items and pay VAT/web charges as usual? I am assuming it's fine but just wanted to check.
I know people sell on, for example, concert tickets, online, but I heard this was strictly illegal, as the tickets are meant to be non-transferable. Anyone know any info on this, in terms of the legality of what you can sell, where, and how?

Thanks so much for any help!

May be worth reading the eBay Help Guide Pages..

Starting with this one... http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/seller-i nternational.html

The subject is selling to other countries, but the rules are universal.

There is also a detailed page on VAT / TAX charges too.. http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/png-vat. html
I bought cocncert tickets on eBay...so it musn't be that illegal.
