This happened to me as well, so I can sympathise with you. I got in touch with a solicitor and they wrote him (my ex) a letter with the info I had given them about when, how much and why I had lent him the money, and gave him a month to pay up or it would go further. I got a cheque within the week. Now, I went to a solicitor that my father deals with, so they didn't charge me, but I gave a donation to the local hospice. Is there anyone you know who works in a solicitor's office? Can you contact citizen's advice? I'm sure they could help. Good luck.
