Hi
The only way to find the answer is to send out some invites to tender for the work, as in any business proposition. But include some more minor players, such as Bank of Scotland, Co-op if your turnover is not too large. Go to at least four or five with your details.
most banks will offer you incentives to join them but dont be fooled into thinking they are doing you a favour!!

i am with lloyds tsb and they are ok, but i have heard fantastic reports from bank of scotland customers??
The Bank of Scotland (not ROYAL Bank of Scotland) nearly caused me to go bankrupt last year through their total and utter incompetence !!!!!!!!!!! They offered free banking for life, but i paid dearly with my sanity ! You get nothing for nothing. i am in the process of changing again to HSBC with 18 months free banking - they have been brilliant and super-efficient. BofS are just a voice in Scotland when you have signed on the dotted line (in blood !)

appreciate the comments! keep them coming, please! Been using rbs for years....want to get out!
Anyone tried Alliance & Leicetser? HSBC has come up a couple of times.
i would say go for one with local call centres, or even a local Bank Manager who can give you the personal touch. at the end of the day, you are at their mercy, so if you can build up a good rapport with your branch and business bank manager the bank costs are not quite so important. Bank of Scotland set my account up, but did not get all the cheque books ready on time, then failed to implement my overdraft 2 days before pay day. we had to pay our workers out of our own bank account - they didnt care at all ! HSBC have set everything up already - including a higher overdraft, no solicitors, no hassle, just waiting for the change-over date. Brilliant !
