Overseas mortgages

Can any Abbers recommend a mortgage company/ broker which provide mortgages secured on foreign properties?

Most High Street banks have schemes for mortgages in Spain and usually France, Portugal and Italy after that. Other countries try www.mortgagesoverseas.com (might be.co.uk)

Hi Mr Black - for what country?? I got one for US (cheaper than getting a US one) and went through my brokers (Foremost Financial in Ingatestone) who got me a good deal with Conti's. We found the broker could get us better rates than we could get ourselves. You may also need a money broker, I am using HIFX (in Windsor, Berks) and don't get charged commission on any exchanges I have to do.

Hi ali_ali, I am glad you found a good deal. I was thinking of buying a property in Poland, and just wondered which were the best brokers/banks for this. I earnt my money in the UK and am employed here.

There are many good brokers and usually the best ones are local and ones that you can meet - not done over the phone - where abouts are ou in the UK?

Everclean is right - my broker is 5 mins away from me. However feel free to give them a ring just to see what is out there. There are also very direct, no BSh*t with them. Email them on [email protected]. It'll be Derren or Susi that will reply. They know me (Alison) my bf and I now have 4 mortgages with them!!
