does anyone know if you can get out of a mobile phone contract? am 5 months into an 18 month contract with 3 and i think they are rubbish.have tried phoning them but cant get the adviser to understand me. thanks

To be honest you probably are stuck with them.

You signed up for 18 months and unless there is a very good reason they will hold you to this. You probably got some incentive with the contract, so many extra minutes or a discount. The best you will get is that you can change the contract after 6 months and could then change to a cheaper one.
I had the same problem, what i had to do was change my tarriff to the cheapest option and pay that for the remainder of my contract, as 3 wouldn't cancel it. i never used the phone from the day i did this and just had a new contract phone with t-mobile.
