Who is liable? Car loan

My partner and i of 5 years recently split up. 2 years ago we bought a car, finance in my name, she is the registered owner. On splitting up she has the car, she pays the money into my account each month. However, ive heard that i am still liable for this car, if she writes it off etc. I have asked her to get a loan out (which she says she cant) so that its out of my name. How can i get it off my name and into hers?
