Premium Bond
6 Answers
I have just unearthed a Premium Savings Bond dated October 1971 with a face value of just 1.00 and would be interested in the following:
1. Is it still a valid document?
2. Has the bond been entered into the periodic draws ever since that date?
3. Would I have been notified if a winning number at any time?

I found a 1 Premium Bond at my Mums house a couple of years ago, and one for my brother aswell. I wrote to them with my change of name (I got married a few years ago) and my new address and they sent me a nice letter with a reference number on. I think that if you get back in touch after a while they check whether your premium bond was a winner.
From 1976, Holders numbers were allocated to all existing and new Bondholders; you should have received notification of this at that time.
If you do not know your Holder's number you need to write to NS&I with the necessary information at the address given here...
