Going to Japan - Dos and Don'ts

I am going to Japan (just outside Tokyo) for the first time on business soon, I'll be there for about two weeks. I am concerned that I mightr do the wrong thins and offend my hosts. Do you have any dos and don'ts for me - any advice at all would be most welcomed. Thanks in advance. Bill

I think the pointer about slip on shoes is very good advice. You will be taking your shoes off a lot!
And you will be expected to dress smartly.

The best advice anyone gave me about behaviour in business Japan was to allow your hosts to host you. We tend to be pretty interactive in the West, but the Japanese are a deferent race and seek to please. Think humble and grateful and you�re less likely to offend. And get used to bowing a lot�..
