I want to buy my husband his first digital slr camera for Christmas. We have used the usual type of slr cameras. I've done a bit of research and would ideally have liked to buy the Nikon D80, but my budget doesn't really run to that. The Nikon D50 is looking like a good second choice at the moment. I wondered if anyone out there had one, or if anyone had any other recommendations. Also, should I buy the kit with the Nikkor 18-55mm lens or buy the body and a lens separately. All advice gratefully received. Thank you.
Do you have any current lenses? For instance, if you have a few Canon lenses, it may pay you to get a Canon DSLR.
The Nikon D80 is a very good camera, but I would think that the Canon 350D is overall better than the D50. The 400D is also good, but the 350D will probably suffice.
And if you can save some money buying body and lens at the same time, then do it.
Why not look at the Latest Sony Alpha which id=s the latest update of Konika-Mino;ta which Sony recently aquired. It has all you could possibly want---and more!
