coins of king george 6th have two more titles than elizabeth 2 what are they and why were they removed

GEORGIVS.VI.D:G:BR:OMN:REX F:IND:IMP
"George VI by the Grace of God, King of all the Britains, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India."

In 1953 a specimen set of coins were minted for the coronation with the inscription
ELIZABETH II DEI GRA BRITT OMN REGINA F D
"Elizabeth II by the Grace of God, Queen of all the Britains, Defender of the Faith"

(The Empire no longer existed in 1953!)

However all subsequent mintings have the inscription
ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA F D
"Elizabeth II by the Grace of God, Queen, Defender of the Faith"
