I'm running for Treasurer of my school council and I have to deliver a speach to inspire people to vote for me. I was just wondering if anyone had any helpful hints of how to deliver my speach, or what to say! I need something that will make people think I would be a good Treasurer. Any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks

In my experience as a Treasurer there's never any competition and it's a devil to get out of if you don't want to do it any more. Do you really need to make that speech?

Just make it memorable, not dull......
make up a small poem.......
Money, money, money -
it makes the world go around, a pound, a penny, or two.....give us the pennies - i'll count them for you!

I would want a treasurer who
could add up
was methodical (to keep the records straight, and have cash or cleared funds available when needed)
was in control of their own finances
was happy to work with other members of the committe (so that money is paid out as they decide).

Your speech would need to convince me of those things.
