i have lived with my partner for 17 years she now wants me to leave but i have nowhere to go at the moment. we live in a local authority house in both of our names has she got the right to throw me out now? we have two children.

I would say that you have as much right to be there as she does. Best thing to do is to speak to your local authority and find out what your options are - obviously there is something wrong with the relationship and if it is over then I suppose someone has to go and if the children need a home then it will no doubt be you, but I don't think you should be bullied into going without giving you time.
If the tenancy is in both your names neither can force the other to go unless a Court order is obtained.
