How can I set up a formula in Exel to work out by how many percent an item has increased in price?

Example:- Once cost 25.99 now costs 32.75.

if you put 25.99 in A1 and 32.75 in B1 then:

in C1 put the formula: =((B1-A1)/A1)*100

and that will be the percentage increase
yeah, that's right, except the outer set of brackets is unnecessary (won't affect the result though)

Just tried it out and it works. But how do I make the sum in C1 to show as a percentage?

I did a trial sum with an increase of 10%, and it showed 10 in C1, but when I formatted C1 to show as a percentage it came up as 1000.00%.

Sorry to be a nuisance.
If you have formatted C1 to show a percentage, then delete *100 from the formula
