Charges to re-issue dividend cheques?
5 Answers
I had 2 cheques gone missing in the post!! The company will re-issue ,But: one was for just 6 & the other for 84 - they will send replacement cheque for 6 free!! BUT they want to charge me 12 for the other one. Is this legal or are they having a laugh??
Any advice please? ( MUST be 100% solid) 'cos I want to follow this up!!
Cheers in advance

Did they take reasonable precautions in ensuring delivery such as registered post or another guaranteed delivery service? If not, I don't see how they can blame you for not receiving it - they have not paid you and are still responsible for doing so.
Thanks Hammer & Jennyp. I agree BUT how do I prove I haven't received them OR for that matter how do I prove that I DID indeed send them to my bank OR that the bank ,in turn, received them OR not???
It seems clear to me that between the company sending the cheques and my bank clearing them I have no control!!
Anyway, cheers both of you . I will keep you informed

Sorry 'bout that lapse in attention! On the 21st April I noticed, on a mini-statement ,a deposit which looked familiar: yes, that's right - the missing cheques had been credited to my account on the 20th. April.
The counter assistant simply said " I'm sorry, they must have got lost in the post."
Moral of the story; I'm not sure there is one. Perhaps patience?
Anyway, I'm going back to cash only!!
Cheers all
