Hello
At work recently there have been a number of vacancies in our department (I work for a large organisation) and it would appear that they are just being handed out to certain people in the department without any kind of selection process taking place. This is causing allot of bad feeling amongst other people in the department who would have quite liked to have been considered for these opportunities. I would like to point out that the people that have been given the jobs do not have any specialised skills or any more experience than others, it is more that it is "convenient" to just fill the positions without having to advertise it internally etc.

As I mentioned this is causing bad feeling in the department but I wondered if my employer is acting fairly? I thought if vacancies became available and there were people internally that met the minimum requirements that they should be considered, instead we are only finding out about these vacancies after they are being filled by these cherry picked people!!

I am very surprised as I thought that with such a big company they would know better but would be grateful if someone could let me know if my employer is acting unfairly.

Many Thanks!
