How much of the child maintenance is taken into consideration when they process a claim for a single parents income support? I know you can earn up to 20 and then the income support is affected, but what about maintenance? I have been told income support is about 57 per week. My maintenance is going to be 60. How much will be knocked off the income support?

Many thanks in advance.

If you are classed as an old rules case you do not have a disregard therefore you will not get Income support.

If you are a new rules case you will have 10 disregarded and get just over 7.00 pw + rent and council tax etc paid.

Whether you are old or new rules depends which CSA computer system you are on - eventually all will be new rules (In theory at least) - your benefit office will be able to tell you which rules you come under
