Unfair Job Interview
Hi, I was emplyed for 4 years in credit management control. I recently applied for a job in credit control but after a fantastic interview, i was not offered a second interview. I was really amazed at this decision so i called up the hr dpt for feedback. They told me that they felt i had no experience? i questioned this as i had 4 years experience in another area of this job. He would not go into detail but did confirm to send in writing a request for feedback. I have sent this 4 times in 2 months now, all to no avail. He will not even accept my calls.
Is there a fair employment tribunal i can take this up with, as i feel i was discriminated against?
By the way i have since been employed with a different company in Credit Control! Just proves my point.

I know it's not nice when you don't get a second interview or the job you want, especially if you think you did really well at the interview. Still, surely its better than them interviewing you for a second time knowing full well that they were never going to offer you the job at the end of it, that would waste your time and theirs.
if there was indeed sexual or racial discrimination then you could take this organisation to an employment tribunal - however proving your case would be quite difficult... if you don't mind me asking what sort of discrimination do you think occurred?
even if you were the best qualified for the job they don't have to give it to you - they could not employ you simply because they didn't like you for some reason or simply preferred another persons attitude etc.
think you need to forget the disappointment and enjoy your new job
all the best - Iggy

I accept your opinions but what i cannot come to terms with is why i was given an interview in the first place if he tells me he thinks i had no experience?
I mean a few months later i am now employed as Credit Controller with a different company in the Rep of Ireland. Honestly my C.V tells it all. I do have a lot of experience in this area.
I feel that i was not given the job beacause of Religious Discrimination.

If you are in the Republic of Ireland and the job was too, and you believe you have a genuine case due to religious discrimination, you can sue under the Equality Act 2004, which specifically deals with discrimination under the following grounds:gender, marital status, family status, age, race, religion, disability, sexual orientation and membership of the Traveller community.

when employers put out a person spec for the job, it is just a wish list really, so they quite often interview people without the asked for experience, but then maybe someone else has a bit more experience, but you have been given an interview. i dont really understand what you hope to achieve from this, except perhaps your own personal satisfaction (not that that should be underestimated) but surely you could get satisfaction from doing well in your new job and rising above it? you dont actually want to work for the old firm now do you?
