You can use a service like Western Union to transfer money between countries: http://www.westernunion.com/
There is a company called western union who specialise in worldwide money transfers. You could find your brothers local western union over the net.
It might be too late but almost any bank will transfer money anywhere. They only need an instruction and account details.
One way of transferring funds to anyone anywhere would be to send a 'quasi cash' payment by Paypal (you would both need to have an account). I've done this a couple of times to my brother in Mallorca and I seem to remember there were NO fess whatsoever (I'd check this, as I may have been drunk at the time...), and it's instantaneous of course. Simply transfer funds from your UK bank account to Paypal and then straight to your SA bank account. Alternatively you could make a credit card transfer to your Paypal account and then transfer it to your SA account. Read more at http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/ema/ind

Having replied to a similar answer recently, i would definitely recommend you use the service RationalFX. They are registered by the FSA and is a company who i personally use on a regular basis.
