yes, in England. No other savings as such, only basic for funeral. It is private. He had to go after a stay in hospital after a stroke.
Where there is a case of "continuing care", the NHS is liable to fund 100% of the costs. As I understand, continuing care is usually where a patient moves directly from a hospital into a care home.
