I have been putting the ideas for a book together, however have no idea what the first step is towards getting it published. Does anyone else know ?

You need to write it first, no more complicated or simple as that. Only the most successfull of authors are given an advance to write a book so no publisher is going to enter into any sort of contact without a finished manuscript.

The normal process is write the book, then spend months years sending it round to publisers and then sending rejection letters.

I know that may sound very negative but it is an experience you will need to get used to.

Yup even the mighty harry potter book were rejected loads of times. Saved Bloomsbury though.

Try self publishing first, go to www.lulu.com for a simple way. If your books sell, find another publisher
