Just forward the e-mail to Abbey. Or just delete it. It will have been sent out by the thousand if not million and they'll get copies from someone anyway.
There are loads of these scams about - they don't even know you have an account with Abbey. I get them 'from Natwest' all the time. I don't, and never have had, an account with Natwest

It's worrying that so many people aren't aware of this phishing scam. Banks should do more to warn customers-eg by big announcements on statements- but some customers are just too gullible I'm afraid and will still fall for it. The phishing emails are always badly written and don't have your name on. If in doubt close it- don't follow any links in it. Log off. Then log back in onto your normal online banking system and if you can get on fine tand there's no message for you then the email was clearly a scam.
Do not click on anything. Report to the Abbey National today if you can get online. See this site for more info :)

If email was from abbey national then it's clearly a scam as they aint called abbey national now.
If teh email didn't include your name then it won't be genuine
If you haven't got an abbey account at all then it must be a scam
if you don't bank online then it must be a scam
Personally I wouldn't even bother visiting the branch.
