Ridiculous Brain Teaser
3 Answers
This is a ridiculous algebra question that I CANNOT figure out, so if you can, congratulations! Okay there is five rows, with a a number spelled out. There are 10 letters total in the equation and each one stands for a number 1-9
T H R E E
N I N E
F O U R T E E N
F I F T E E N
_______________
F I F T Y O N E
The numbers wouldn't line up right, but it basically goes from right to left the last letters all line up instead of the first lettters of the word. And the bar is the equal sign just in case you didn't know. But each number can only be used to represent one letter, and if it represents E for example in one place, it must represent it in all the others. And when adding them, you can carry numbers to the top of the next columns. Like if the first column would equal 26, the E in the fiftyone would have to be a six and then there would be a 2 remaining at the top for the next column. (You wouldn't count the 2 as the E, I don't think.) Enjoy!
