Between one and five shillings a week for people over seventy provided their income did not exceed more than twelve shillings .Brought in by Lloyd George in 1908 .

There were pensions before this but these were the heriditary type of thing granted to the landed gentry or politicians.
Other pensions were granted to members of the clergy and the military and their dependants but these were not old age pensions as we know them now.
