Trusts Law and the QLD

I have an academic law degree, no trusts module done. I have been told though that by sitting the trusts module papers and passing it is treated as a QLD equivalent. I have a regret that i didn't do trusts because, who knows, i might want to become a solicitor at some point in the future. anyway, im rambling... What i want to ask is this: do i have to sit the one module at a Uni or can i do it in my own time and just sit the exam at the end? Also, how much would this cost?

I dont know if a uni will allow you to select just one module, but it's worth asking!!!

If you cant do this, then you may want to do the GDL, a one year conversion course which will give you the QLD you need.

Hi Jo,

Thanks for your help. I'd rather not site the GDL as I've done a 3 year law degree and I dont want to sit through modules I've done before just to get the credit for one extra module... That option is too expensive for me right now. I've been told the one module is doable, but I'd prefer to study alone and just do the exam as attending classes is going to be nigh on impossible for me!

Why oh why didnt I do trusts?!?!

Hi Josh

Trusts, believe it or not is quite an interesting module. All the cases are about the greedy relative situations and some are amusing. I did Trusts in my second yr, and I am just finishing my LLB in the next week or so ( after a couple of nasty exams!!)

Try contacting the OU, they are the epitomy of distant learning and might be able to give you some concrete advice.
