help with legal aid
hi please could some one help me to help my brother i asked about his benefit fraud a few days ago if you want to find it and have a read. My brother has got a solicitor to help him (as advised by the person who answered my post) when he goes for sentencing and the pre-sentencing report the solicitor says he will get legal aid as he only gets 50 carers allowance he has saving of 21000 but he told the solicitor that he might need them in the near future to pay for mums care if she goes into a care home and the solicitor said that he would definitely get legal aid is this right and would he. Thanks Diane

Your brother clearly qualifies for legal aid because his total gross annual income is less than 12475, which means that he passes the means test:

21000 in savings! Thats 21000 more than I've got for working and paying my way. Why an earth he deserves legal aid that costs taxpayers more money is beyond me. I hope he doesn't and sorry if that is being nasty but it is the way I feel and I feel the same about benefit scroungers too let alone people who fraudently claim them
